We have finally moved into our new office, located at 2740 31st Ave S in Minneapolis. All of our employees finally have their own desk! Our engineers are currently designing the solar system that will be installed on our roof by the end of July. These panels will be able to provide our company with the electricity we need for our business operations, as well as the charging of our electric scooter and truck. There are also plans to build a "mock roof" in the near future that will be used as an educational tool, demonstrating how our panels will be installed on a home. Our company vision is to be as sustainable as possible. These efforts can be observed in our business model, our services offered, and even in our office! Here at freEner-g, most of our employees are biking or taking the bus to work. All of our chairs, desks, kitchenware, pencils, paper, mousepads, wall decor, etc. are either recycled products or from re-use centers. For errands, employees can use the company bus pass, or the electric scooter. See the new picture of the team with our electric scooter in front of our new office! Stay tuned for more updates & thanks for your support!
Sustainably yours, The freEner-g Team |

We know we're a business, we are truly sorry if we are irritating you with our presence. But we are a very new company, with a very new concept that most people have never heard of. We don't have the money to advertise but we figure that environmentally minded people would like to hear about us. If you have been chosen as our friend it's because you had the environment or nature as one of your interests or belong to an environmentally minded community.
I personally am obsessed with stopping global warming, I got my minor in sustainability studies at the U of M and have been lucky enough to get a job in a business that is building an alternate way for people to generate electricity without a coal plant. I believe it is extremely important that the word gets out about a way to put solar panels on people's houses without them having to shell out $40,000.
I believe as responsible stewards of our earth we should be trying to spread the word any way we can, and if that means introducing this concept on LiveJournal, than that's what should be done.
Building an office from the ground up to be sustainable should also be a very interesting exercise, one that has not been blogged about very often, so I think we can be interesting and valuable in that respect also. If you are still unswayed by my argument feel free to remove us as your friend, we'll try not to be offended.

Yay! Today we bought the first big purchase of the company, an eMotion eBike, basically an electric scooter for office use. We will of course power our electric scooter with the solar panels we will be installing on the roof of our new office! Until then it'll be coal powered :(
Hopefully I will post pics of our new scooter this week. I would post their website but they don't have one yet!!
